Alum inks tattoo thanks to DCAA donations
In April, on the Cardinal's 126th birthday, the DCAA launched a campaign to rally alumni to support the paper's future. The current Cardinal staff have asked us to take a major role in funding the paper's general operations.
One person who stepped up in a big way was 2005-’06 Editor in Chief Emily Winter, who challenged her fellow Cardinal alums to contribute to the DCAA appeal.
"If I can get 10 of you to donate to The Cardinal, I will get the 6-inch cardinal tattoo on my left arm that I have always wanted," Winter wrote in an email to her Cardinal network. Just hours later, she hit her goal and started planning her first tattoo.
In July, Emily shared the results, and we here at the DCAA think this may be the best use of ink outside of fresh newsprint. Way to go, Emily!
While you personally may not be ready to get a tattoo to show your support, you can still contribute here to the DCAA fund and we'll be incredibly appreciative. We're particularly looking for alums who are willing to make sustaining monthly contributions, which provides a regular monthly base of support for the Cardinal's operations.
