A recent reminder of what the Daily Cardinal was, and could be again

I was taken to one of my friend's workplaces recently. A fellow Cardinalista, he was named the advisor to the student newspaper of Ball State University. Looking around this newsroom, it drove the point home as to what we are trying to do for The Daily Cardinal.

This newsroom was 6 times the size of the Cardinal's; 6 times as many computers; and 6 times its budget from a place with less competition, far fewer students and far fewer alumni.

For those of you who have not had the chance, visit The Daily Cardinal and see what good we have done and yet to do. Student newspapers should be places to learn about reporting, editing, design and business not to only worry about money.

Let's look to make the nations sixth oldest student newspaper something worthy of its own legend. Look to see how you can help and remember that the legacy of the Cardinal is all of our concerns.
